I strive to make every portrait a timeless work of art worthy of many generations of enjoyment. To that end, I will employ live sittings, photography, or a combination of the two. Most often I will take photographs of the sitter with a digital camera and download the images to my laptop where the client and I will review the expressions and poses. The photography session and review will take from 2 to 3 hours to complete. For adult portraits, if time permits, I will paint a head and shoulder study. I will set up my easel with my palette and paints and the sitter will pose. I will need about 2 hours for the head and shoulder study either during the afternoon of the photo session or on a following morning. I will take the photographic reference material back to my studio where I will begin work on the full-scale portrait. When the portrait is finished, I'll email a photograph of the painting to the client for approval. Once the portrait is approved, I'll deliver the portrait in person or ship it. 

The fee for adults begins at $20,000 for a head and shoulders portrait. The fees for 3/4 length and full length portraits are more. Please contact me for specific prices. 

Children's portraits begin at $5,500 for a pastel head and shoulders portrait. Oil portraits and 3/4 length and full length portraits are more. Please contact me for specific pricing.
